I feel a bit like a hypocrite, because when the first ones came out and I saw the first reviews I just thought "Nha, the world doesn't really need this". It seemed like a downgraded BB Cream to me It had all the treatment abilities, like anti wrinkle care, whitening effect, sun protection, etc. which a BB Cream has too, but apparently less coverage. What was the point of it? I have to admit - I still don't fully understand. Despite not being impressed at all, Etude House got me once again when they released their Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream, which I bought instantly because 1. I thought I should not judge these products before trying out at least one 2. I was drawn to the packing design Damn you, Etude!. This CC Cream is available in two types 01 Silky and 02 Glow. The one I got and will review for you today is the Silky Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream is a multitasking 8-in1 product, which hydrates, primes, conceals, treats and protects your skin and promises anti-aging effect, stress relief, hydrating effect, a SPF 30 / PA++ sun protection, tone-up, a smooth texture and actually does not promise real coverage, which was my main concern and also a bit cause for confusion about what exatly this product is. As you can see from the directions on the packing, Etude House advices you to use it as a base under your foundation or BB Cream for more coverage, so I expected this to have no coverage at CC Cream comes in a pump dispenser tube, which is just the most awesome, most hygienic and most handy kind of packing for any kind of cream. If you know Etute House's Precious Mineral BB Cream you are already familiar with this kind of packing, but be aware that this one is much smaller with just 35ml of cream, while the BB Cream has 60ml of product in it!The cream itself is white with a lot of tiny bluish grains in it. When you apply the cream and start blending it with your fingers, the color starts to change into a nice skin-colored shade. This means you actually have to apply it differently than a BB Cream, because you kind of have to "rub" it in to get the color to change. Since this CC Cream only comes in one shade I was a bit worried, especially since many Asian BB Creams have a grayish or yellowish undertone, but the Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream turns into a rather pinkish shade. The texture is different than what I expected, it is more like the one of a facial cream than the one of a foundation or BB Cream and does not blend in as easily as some BB Creams I have tried but then I also do not think that the Etude House Precious Mineral BB Creams are the most easy to blend in BB Creams. The product is extremely efficient and you really only need the tiniest amount to cover all of your face. The amount I used for the swatches above is way too much thought that, because the coverage of CC Creams was supposed to be so minimal, you would not see much of a color difference, but I think in the end you do and my face appears to be slightly more pinkish than my neck after using this product. It also appears to be very light at first, but I have the feeling this is one of the products that gets darker over expected the coverage of this product is not very strong I am a big fan of light-coverage, or better said light textured BB Creams. I like a good coverage, but I do not like the thick mask-feeling of some products with a strong coverage and you really do not feel much of the CC Cream on your face. This photo shows how my skin looks with the Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream only, no additional concealer or base, and you can still see many reddish areas, especially around my nose. Just showing this is a bit embarrassing to me, so I won't show a before photos and you just have to believe me that it looked even much worse before. If you like a natural result, maybe just adding a concealer on red areas and adding a bit of powder on top might be enough already, but if you want perfect flawless skin, this CC cream alone won't be enough unless you have naturally beautiful skin to begin with, of course! With the CC Cream the color of my skin appears more event, and luckily the result isn't shiny, which was one of my greatest fears as I hate the "glow" effect of many Asian products. So I deliberately did not pick the 02 Glow version, but the 01 Silky version, but even silk is kind of shiny, so I was worried that this was one of the products that would instantly turn my face into a greasy mess. Luckily it did not. Other than slightly covering spots and red areas and making my skin look a bit smoother and also "healthier" because the slightly pink undertone just is a big improvement to my usual sickly pale skin, the Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream doesn't perform any miracles. If you want to use this CC Cream as a substitute for a BB Cream, then I am still not entirely sure what the benefits of this product over a BB Cream would be. I cannot really see any as I have plenty of BB Creams that give me similar results. This is not a bad product, compared to a BB Cream, but in the end it's nothing new Just a very light-coverage multi-functional BB Cream under a new name. However, if you see the CC Cream as a multi-functional primer substitute, this is really good. If I add a light-coverage BB Cream over it, I get perfect coverage, and the CC Cream does not make the BB Cream any harder to blend my conclusion Not very good as a BB Cream substitute, very good as a am not sure I want to try other CC Creams in the future, it's not really something I can't seem to live without. Hello my beautiful readers, Today I will be reviewing one of my fave products, the CC Cream from Etude House. Once again, Etude House did not disappoint me and introduced a wonderful product. This was my first CC Cream that I got and Iā€™m happy with it. They have Silky and glowy but I went with silky as it has a matte finish, perfect for oily skin. The purpose of a cc correct&care cream is to correct your skin tone. This one has 8 more functions but Iā€™m wonā€™t be listing them again, I donā€™t type in companyā€™s description of their own product. And it did fulfil itā€™s purpose. It helped reduce redness around my cheeks and the side of my nose which is why it is a ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE for people with troubled skin. Not only does it just correct skin tone but it also acts as a primer. It helps my make up to last up to 12 hours! Iā€™m not even kidding here. I wore it to work last time 10h+lunch for 2h and I went home to see that my makeup looked exactly like how it was when I first put it! Amazing right! My makeup usually ends up looking dull after 7hours without the cc cream so this product really impressed me. Here is how to cc cream looks like on my skin. Whoa whoa whoa! I know it looks wayyyyyy different compared to my skin but once you blend it in, it will match your skin tone! It also has a pump. Bonus! I got mine from qoo10 for SGD 13. Just so you know, I already reviewed the Glow one before Review Etude House CC Cream ā€“ Glow. That made me hesitates to do this post, but soon realized that theyā€™re different in many ways. When it comes to Etude Houseā€™s products, the packaging is always the first one to look at. And this one is no exemption to that. The CC cream comes in a white and sleek tube with a pump. Itā€™s simple yet very royal. I have this theory that they packed their cc cream in a tube that represents its finish. I just noticed that because I own the two cc creams and the two of them have different tube-texture. Anyway, thatā€™s just a theory. Just like the other Korean CC creams and the other variant of this, they have the same white-colored cream that will self-adjust while blending it onto the skin. This cc cream sure is easy to spread and a little goes a long way. It has a hint of lavender scent and is not overwhelming. It has a smooth and a bit runny consistency. I also did this test for you to see if Etude House CC cream Silky is sticky. As you can see, out of 12 paper pieces, only three remained after I flipped my hand. Impressive, right? If I will compare it to the Glow, Silky is less sticky. Ooh, they rhymed! LOL My skin became instantly smooth and soft like a silk. You just have to wait a minute or two before you settle it with your favorite powder then youā€™re good! Compared to the EH CC Glow, this one doesn't give a whitecast and despite of its light shade, it still matches my skin with yellow undertones. The finish is absolute matte after it dries up. Etude House claims that this cc cream could cover your flaws, but it couldnā€™t really. The coverage is very sheer and barely covers anything. I remember saying this before that some cc creams work better for those with a less skin problem. This CC cream, after all, was made to even out the uneven skin tone. I like using it under my BB cream and foundation or alone during my lazy days. A makeup with sheer coverage has its advantage too, you know? It might make you feel bare, but still, with its matte finish, it is a perfect one for no-makeup makeup, yes? Hmm.. The 8-in-1 formula sure is interesting. With one product, you can really skip your skin care routine I know youā€™re sensing a ā€œbutā€ here haha but, itā€™s moisturizing property is a bit lacking. Yes, it lacks moisture to my skin, I donā€™t if itā€™s just me, but I really did notice it. Maybe thatā€™s the advantage of the other variant, CC cream Glow since its way better on moisturizing. Sun protection? Yes, it has SPF30 PA++. And given that it has Arbutin in it, I think that it will help whiten the skin with continued usage. Another good point of this cc cream is that it gives a healthy complexion on the skin and yes, it does even out my skin tone! It stays for about 3-4 hours prior to application. Aftertrying 3 different brands of CC Cream, in my opinion, CC Cream is the BB Cream with moisturizer. BB cream contains moisturizers, but CC Cream contains more moisturizers, but the coverage is lighter than BB Cream. So CC Cream has both skin care effects and makeup effects. Iā€™m really grateful for a good friend I have ā€“ not only is she a good person, sheā€™s also my equivalent of the Evil Queenā€™s talking mirror from Snow White. Except that my ā€œmirrorā€ has design training background, so whenever I apply my truckloads of makeup and ask her ā€œHowā€™s it?ā€, sheā€™ll go into very detailed explanations about how ā€œitā€™s a shade of greyā€ and the ā€œtexture is not fine, your previous BB had a more airbrushed finish, it has a tinge of yellow and doesnā€™t match with your natural pink skintoneā€ etc. This is wayyyy better than ā€œok, niceā€. Iā€™ve been harassing her for a couple of weeks whilst I alternated between my numerous CC creams ā€“ I bet she wants to punch me now. haha. Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream ā€“ Silky thereā€™s another version which is the Glow version The Glow version gives a more dewy finish ā€“ a bit too dewy in my opinion, which is why I bought the Silky one. Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream Silky ā€“ KRW14,000 Similar to the Holika Holika Face 2 Change CC cream ā€“ itā€™s a stark white cream Can you see the micro-capsules? Itā€™s even more visible and can be felt more obviously than Holika Holikaā€™s CC cream Applying and blending it into my skin ā€“ the colour changes from white to pink-beige A natural finish that doesnā€™t cover much of my blemishes A pinkish-whitish finish under natural sunlight ā€“ note the difference between my face and my neck. Under indoors lighting ā€“ the left side one is how I look when I forget to switch off the monitor before taking a selca. A close-up ā€“ you can see that the finishing is more matte than silky. I sayā€¦ I first chanced upon this product when I was stewing in my chair for hours whilst doing my hair at some Korean hair salon. The magazines did such a great job recommending it along with a DPS full page spread that I absolutely had to buy it. Yes, itā€™s that easy to earn my money. heh. The texture is slightly more liquid than Holika Holikaā€™s CC cream, and spreads easily. The micro colour-changing capsules are also more grainy and slightly more coarse than Holikaā€™s. In fact, if it wasnā€™t for the box description, I wouldnā€™t have known that there were supposed to be micro-capsules. However, this one isnā€™t coarse to the point that it scratches your skin; itā€™s just obvious to the touch. The blending requires more effort than Holika ā€“ somehow, the overall effect isnā€™t as good as Holika. It gives a more whitish finish than a natural finish. Thereā€™s not much silky finish though ā€“ itā€™s quite a matte finish thatā€™s relatively unKorean. The coverage isnā€™t strong too ā€“ you can so clearly see my dark eye circles. heh. In fact, I had to dispense 2-3 pumps of this CC cream to cover my blemishes vs Holika Holika, where I only used pumps. It does stay relatively long, about 4 hours, but the coverage is so little that it doesnā€™t really matter that it stays ā€“ my talking mirror was like ā€œWhy so many spots on your faceā€? MEH! šŸ˜¦ Overall, itā€™s not a bad CC cream but it isnā€™t the best either. Itā€™s affordable though, so if youā€™ve got good skin without much to conceal, you can try this one.
